Groom's information - 25 years old, single, born and resides in Cumberland County; parents, Jno & Missouri Dowdy; occupation, farmer. Bride's information - 21 years old, single, born and resides in Cumberland County; parents, Jno & Bettie Dunkum. Officiated by Tho E. Reynolds.

James Edward Dowdy was born about 1847 to John A. Dowdy and his second wife Missouri Baughan. Missouri was the daughter of James Baughan. John A. Dowdy was the son of John Dowdy and Nancy Martin.
