Ken, Has any new evidence come to light on father of Edward Dowdy born abt 1785 we think in Halifax County, Virginia. He married Frances Anderson and they settled in Iredell Co., N.C. He died before 1843 and she died abt 1843 both buried in Statesville, North Carolina. They had two sons William Anderson Dowdy and James Anderson
Dowdy. James is my G-G-G- grandfather.
My older Dowdy group clained kinship to Balaam Dowdy and he and his family moved with William Anderson Dowdy into Georgia. Any help appreciated.
