Pam, Regarding Martin's wife, Matilda Laws, dau of John H. Laws and Malinda Ward. Wanted to update what I found on the John H. Laws family. As I mentioned, he and wife Malinda and family were not with his mother, Dianna Laws and siblings in Hardeman Co.,TN in 1860, even though the daughter Matilda married there to Martin VanBuren Dowdy. Apparently John H. Laws worked for the railroad and moved around a lot. He was found living in Marion Co., TN in 1860 on pg. 134. His wife Malinda had died and he remarried to Martha. By 1870 John and Martha followed his older brother Elisha Laws to Kansas, taking John's sister Fanny Laws from Hardeman Co.also. John and Martha and family are in Morris Co., KS in 1870 and remained there. Never found anything further on what happened to Dianna Laws there in Hardeman Co. after 1860. She was pretty old by this time and probably died there. Pam Smith Notify Administrator about this message?
