Here's an abstract of one of Daniels deeds mentioning Dowdy's Mountain
1791 Deed Book E, pg. 196-197 Daniel Dowdy sold to Daniel McIntosh of Moore Co, NC, for 50 pounds, 200 acres on south side of Deep River, beginning on Dowdy’s Mountain. Land was originally granted to John Kendrick on 9 Oct 1783, who sold it to Daniel Dowdy on 23 Jul 1784. Witnesse: Joseph Thompson & Wm. McLennon. Deed dated 25 Jan 1791, Proven in court during February session 1791, by oath of Joseph Thompson.
