Married: Elizabeth Lucy Smith
Children:
Mary Jane Dowdy born Mary 27, 1843 in Floyd County,VA.
married William J. Keith son of Lenard Keith and Elizabeth
Sutphin. Died November 01 1964 in Floyd County, VA.
Emma Dowdy born 1848 married Isaac Helms
Arilla aka Riller Dowdy (My gggrandmother)
born August 1957 in Floyd County, Virginia
Married Christopher Sutphin 1872 in Floyd County, Virginia
Died January 05, 1931 buried in Greasy Creek Cemetery
Floyd County, Virginia Children were:
Ida Sutphin,Cleak Sutphin,Hugh David Sutphin,
Rhoda Alice Sutphin (My great-grandmother),
Bettie Sutphin, Louanna Sutphin,Susannah Sutphin,and
Alceberry Sutphin.
I would like to add more information on Newton Austin
Dowdy but have not been able to track him any further
than Floyd County. Maybe you can add something to
all of this.
