Dear Missy,
Lucinda and William Dowdy I were my gg-grandparents. Unfortunately, I don't have Lucinda's maiden name either. But here's what I DO have:
William Dowdy and Lucinda had 7 children. Oldest to youngest, they were:
1.William II (my g-grand) married Elizabeth Creasey 27 Jan 1795. His son, Jesse Greene Dowdy, married Susan Weeks 10 Dec 1834. Their son, Nelson Samuel Dowdy, was my father. Whew!
2.Hundley married Eleanor Creasey 5 Dec 1796.
3.Drucilla married Thomas Creasey 28 Feb 1792.
4.Polly married Bird Creasey 24 Oct 1794.
5.Judith married Charles Creasey 27 June 1797.
6.Crete (a girl) married George Canada 1 June 1796.
7.John Scruggs married Polly Howard 1 June 1809.
