Posted by: Lonnie Goodall (ID *****0623) Date: October 13, 2002 at 15:30:04

I hope a DOWDESWELL researcher can add additional data on Geo. Dowdeswell. The following will shed a little more light on his bride, Sophia GOODALL.

Goodall/Keeling/Hobson 16/1700s North America & England

Some notes I've compiled on several families, Goodall/Keeling/Hobson.
Would appreciate any additional information anyone can supply.
Hope this proves of some value.

http://www.blupete.com/Hist/BiosNS/1700-63/Hopson.htm
Peregrine Thomas Hopson
(c.1685-1759).

[15] DCB reports that Hopson in his will, drawn up a month before he left for Martinique, had provided for a niece, Lydia Goodall, who was living with him at Berry, near Gosport, Hampshire; and, two sisters, Grace Hopson and Anne Bennett. This, of course, supports the theory, though we know nothing of his private life, that it is likely Hopson was a life long bachelor.

((LAG COMMENT: THIS IS JUST A SMALL EXTRACT FROM THE SITE GIVEN ABOVE. LYDIA, IS ALMOST
CERTAIN TO BE THE DAUGHTER OF JOHN GOODALL/ELIZABETH HOBSON. WONDER WHAT RELATIONSHIP,
IF ANY THERE IS BETWEEN ANNE BENNETT ABOVE, AND BENEJAH BENNETT FOUND IN THE EQUITY
PLEADING CASES.))
