Deanna, The only bit of information I have come across which mentions Dowdall and Sedgrave together is the following which I found in a book I had borrowed from Queens University, Belfast, N Ireland. I have now returned the book: Dowdall Deeds, Edited by Charles McNeill and A. J. Otway-Ruthven. Published, Dublin : Stationery Off. for the Irish Manuscripts Commission, 1960 Pages 323 and 324. Number 68o (Before 1641) "Interrogatory to be administered to the witnesses to be produced on behalf of Christopher Dowdall, defendant, against Oliver Stanley and Ellenor his wife) plaintiffs. First, do you know the parties and Catherine Dowdall alias Sedgrave, late wife of George Dowdall late of Rathmore, deceased, and did you know the said George Dowdall and Lawrence Sedgrave, both deceased, and do you know the lands of Lysdorough, co. Lowth ? Do you know, or have you credibly heard that the said Lawrence Sedgrave agreed with the said George Dowdall to convey the lands of Lysdorrogh to George and Catherine upon their marriage, and did the marriage take place ? Do you know or have you credibly heard that the said premises in Lysdorrogh were conveyed to George and Catherine in pursuance of the said agreement, whether they were put in possession of them by Lawrence, and how long did they enjoy them? Did not the said George and Catherine assign the said lands and their estate therein to the said defendant, and when and for what consideration, and did not the said Catherine confirm the assignment after George's death? Do you know or have you credibly heard that the said defendant had leased the premises to one Lawrence Taffe for a term of years, and when and for what term, and at what yearly rent? Was the same then a full and valuable rent or no, and what have the same lands since been let for, or might be let for? Do you know anything else material concerning the premises? Signed Richard Berford." I do not have any information about Segraves, Sedgraves, Seagraves etc in my own files. Good luck with your search. Billy. Notify Administrator about this message?
