The odds of there being 2 Sam Dowdalls are 100 per cent. One is the Father and the other a son. Also their religion was different because if a son married into a family and he was catholic and the woman her married was protestant or methodist he usually married in her church. I am also researching dowdalls in perth and have found that each family was different religions and when i research their wife that has been the reason why. the wife was raise in another religion. Also a lot of the Perth people moved north because of the mining and the railroad. There were many Dowdalls working for the railroad. My grandmothers two sisters married Dowdalls from Perth and they both worked for the railroad. You're on the right track if you want any specific information contact me. Thanks, Ann Marie.

P.S. I am actually trying to track a Jane Fournier married to John Dowdall. Any ideas?
