Brooklyn Standard Union July 22, 1918. Bernard W. DOWD died at his home, 602 Eleventh street, yesterday, after a
brief illness. He was born in the old Twelfth Ward sixty-four years ago and when a young man learned the stone cutting trade and did much work in the construction of the State Capitol at Albany. Later he was made keeper in the
old pentitentiary under Warden HAYES and for the past ten years had been a keeper in the City Prison on Raymond street. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Ninth and Prospect avenue. He is survived by two sons, James, an
employee in the Navy Yard, and Bernard, attached to the Brooklyn Detective Bureau; four daughters, Mrs. SWEENEY, Mrs. O'KEEFFE and Catherine and Margaret DOWD, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary WHITE and Mrs. Jane KELLY. The
funeral will be held Wednesday morning with a mass of requiem in Holy Family Church at 10 o'clock. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. I am not relate & have no other info.
