I am looking for a man by the name of Lorenzo Dow. He was a preacher in Alabama, Pickens County to be exact. He was there around 1840. He was preaching to some people and apparently they were giving him a bad time. As he left, they ask when he was going to return and he replied. "Not until you reform". They actually named their city Reform.
Now for my question. I do not know what religion he was preaching at the time. But, I have family that joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1842. Reform is just a few miles from where my family was living near Aliceville. I am aware that alot of LDS people named the children Lorenzo Dow then last name. Even Brigham Young named his son Lorenzo Dow Young. Was there a Lorenzo Dow preaching for this church in the southern states? If so, I would like to have more information about him. I am writing a history about my family the Graham's and would like to put information about who baptized them.
Thank you for any information that you can give to me. Jeneanne Safran
