Dear Travise

We are almost certainly related, albeit distantly.

My father's family, (Reginald, son of Robert) comes from the village of Canterbury, New Brunswick

We are descendants of Thomas Dow, brother of Henry, who, together, were the first Dow's to arrive in America (Thomas 1639, Henry 1637..i think)

This Dow line has been traced back as far as 1495 to a tiny place called Runham, in Norfolk, England...not far from my place, in fact. (I moved to UK from Canada in 1993).

I have been to the village and taken a snapshot of it..although it's rather unimpressive.

Anyway..the Dow family in Maritimes arrived by way of new england, polling up the Saint John River..I forget which year, but it was long before the US war of independence. They founded a place called Dow's Landing, which no longer exists...and dispersed from there.

If we are related..let me know. Thomas arrived with a one child and a pregnant wife at Newburyport Mass. (AKA..Newbury, Mass.) 1639.

Look up the following wesite for more:

It's brilliant!

Hope that helps..
