I am seeking information on the parents of Joseph Dow of Amesbury, Essex, MA. According to data found in "New England Families Genealogical and Memorial: Third Series, Volume III, William R. Cutter, pb 1915, he was supposedly a son of John Dow and Sarah Brown. No souces are cited, however, and I'm reluctant to use only Cutter as a source. From my notes on Joseph:

NAME: born April 21, 1699 son of John Dow and Sarah Brown per "New England Families Genealogical and Memorial: Third Series, Volume III, William R. Cutter, pb 1915. (NOTE: may or may not be accurate.) Father of Susannah Dow, wife of John George per "George Genealogy", by Keith George.
MARR: 12 Jan 1730/31 Joseph Dow & Judith Bootman per"Old Families of Salisbury and Amesbury Massachusetts" vol 2.
NOTE: extracts of church business from records found in "Old Families".
8 Nov 1741. Baptism of Judith, Susanna, Eunice, and Joseph of Joseph & Judith Dow.
15 Nov 1741. Recd. Joseph and Judith Dow.
4 Jan 1756. Baptized Joseph Dow & wife.
4 Jul 1742. Benjamin of Joseph & Judith Dow.
22 Apr 1744. Anna of Joseph and Judith Dow.
2 Dec 1750. Sarah, Dr of Joseph Dow.
8 Jul 1750. Abigail of Joseph & Judith Dow.
25 Mar 1753. Sarah of Joseph & Judith Dow. Second child of this name.
19 Sep 1756. Samuel, S: of Joseph Dow.
Note: Henry Dow is named as a son of Joseph Dow per "New England Families Genealogical and Memorial: Third Series, Volume III, William R. Cutter, pb. 1915 but this may or may not be accurate. Henry not found in church baptismal records.
Oct. 13, 1771 Mr. J. Currier & Joseph Dow & wife to Goffstown.

Any other information regarding Joseph Dow and Judith Bootman would be appreciated.

thanks,
