Am not sure this will help, but Book of Dow has a Josiah F. Dow, father of George F b. Lynn MA 19 Jan 1847, and possibly a dau Sarah Frances.

The author noted that there were 3 references to a Josiah F. Dow, and believes they are all the same person. However, he is listed as the son of Levi Dow and wife Mary (Dow?),

In another section of the book I find information on Capt. Timothy Dow b. Concord 27 July 1784 and wife Margaret Sawyer of Concord. They were m 13 Sept 1808 - and the list of children is not complete according to the author. There is no Josiah listed. Timothy d. Concord 1833.

In the section on Josiah F. it mentions that there was a Josiah F. Dow a guard in Concord State's prisom im 1834. A Josiah F, Dow pub int. to m. Sarah J Parker of Cornish ME 18 Aug 1846. A Dr Josiah F Dow of Concord with wife Sarah J Barker had a 1st born in Lynn 1847.

The author is associating him with Levi (a guess really) - but if you have information that Josiah is the son of Timothy - maybe you can combine material from the 2 sets of information to get the true story.

The 2 lines are totally different Dow lines - Levi goes back to Henry Dow of Watertown; Timothy goes to Thomas of Newburyport - 2 unrelated Dows.
