According to The Book of Dow, David Dow died in Jefferson County, Illinois. The book uses Mch as an abbreviation for March. The section on David says he moved to Jefferson Co, Ill and later says he d. Jefferson Co Mch 4, 1846. It's possible the mixup in state came from misreading Mch as Michigan, rather than March.
