It is my understanding that the Texas Dows came
from Shelby county Illinois between the years 1877
and 1881. They traveled to Kauffman co. Texas and
then to Upshur Co. Texas. Was your grandfather
from this area of Illinois? Elias L. Dow and Anna
Showers were married in Mowequea in 1877. I
believe Elias was the son of Benjamin and Syrena
Dow. Do you know anything about them? They are
somewhere in Shelby Co.
