Posted in 1999, "Searching for information on Roxanna S.Dow, b. about 1843, either Maine or New Brunswick, married Sanford Shaw of NB.They had 3 children-Ruel, Ella and Harry Dow Shaw. I have copy of inherited "family" letter dated Mar 1865, addressed to Peter Dow of Pelham, Aroostook, ME from Mary E. [0r Susannah?] Dowe of East Polermo(?) ME--(both Peter and Mary born circa 1800). Letter mentions first names only of following-William & Saddy (Roxanna's parents?), Jerry, Rebecah, Hannah, Jonathan, Molly, Caroline, Alexander and Weston (age 19 at time and headed for front lines with his brother) & Carlton. Does this connect to anyone you know? Thanks." Yes,I know of William and Sally Carlton Dow and daughter Roxanna. Does anyone know what happedened to this letter?
