I also wondered about the Scotland link for Caroline, but the age fits the census data. Also, if Seth Dyer's Caroline was only 11 in 1850, we have a 10 year error. Is Seth Dyer's age in 1850 compatible with a 21 year old daughter?

Re the IGI record, Saco's Town Clerk confirmed the Francis' death date of 08 Nov 1932 and lists his spouse as Eugenia L. Dow. Regrettably no parents names. Saco suggested that I follow up with the funeral home which is still in business. Also, the Madison Sewall Dow info on the IGI record tracks the 1900 census data. At least some of the IGI has been validated so far.

Was there a Dow family in Cumberland Co. for the 1850 census that might fit?
