Elizabeth Dow Hallock

It was recently brought to my attention that my gg/grandmother was Elizabeth Dow, born 1816 in ONT., either Elizabethtown or Meaford. She married Benjamin Hallock in 1838/39. Their union produced 9 children. Benjamin was originally from Elizabethtown, the son of Rev. William A. and Catherine (DeGroat) Hallock. He and brother William moved to Meaford in 1836. They were the first Hallocks to the area and two of the very first settlers. I researched the possiblity of Elizabeth's surname being Dow with no success and until yesterday was not certain what her surname actually was. Searching the surname of Dow was just a hunch based solely on the fact that Dow is the middle name that has been passed down from generation to generation in my Hallock lineage. Beginning with Elizabeth's, son Lorenzo Dow Hallock. I would appreciate any information anyone may have on Elizabeth's lineage, parents, siblings, etc., or any direction to follow to research further on her. There are a ton of Elizabeth Dows, but none connect with my line. Thank you. BEV-MI
