Robert, Bolivar Dow married Eloise Echols in Rankin Co., MS, 5 Nov 1853. Is this the same Bolivar as your Simon Bolivar? Census records show SB Dow with a 30 year old woman, "M Dow", who I assume is his wife, in 1860, and with wife Elvira in 1870 and 1880 in Smith then Simpson Co's. In 1850 he lives near Robert W. Echols, who has living with him Martha Dow, the head of the household including OC Dow in 1860, while OC lives with SB Dow. Did Eloise die or is this the same woman? or passibly a different Bolivar?
I also have either a confusion on the dod of SB or there were two SB Dows as the Rankin Co. genweb page has on it a cemetery record: Dow S. B. 16 Sept. 1827 19 May 1865 Co. D 4 Miss Cav Zion Hill Cemetery
I am interested in Eloise in particular since I believe her to be the sister of my Catherine Elizabeth Echols as well as of Robert W. Echols. Catherine Elizabeth married John Henry Evans, a methodist minister, in Rankin Co., and died before 1870. Her husband and children were neighbors of SB Dow and Robert W. Echols in 1870.
I am also interested in Martha Dow (what was her maiden name? did they marry in Copiah Co.?) and, of course, OC Dow and his parents and siblings. I am also curious if Coleman Echols went to TX with any of the Dow family.
