First I need to correct an error I made in message 1014 - the name should be Herbert Henry Dow, not Henry Herbert. Sorry about the slip-up.

According to the book (and not something I have independently verified) Herbert Henry Dow was the only son of Joseph Henry Dow and Sarah Jane Bunnell. HHD had 3 sisters.
HHD m. Grace A. Ball in 1892 and had 7 children.
HHD's father, JHD (b.1836), lived in Cleveland and m. Sarah Jane Bunnell. His parents were Joseph Dow (b. 1807) and Abigail French. Joseph(b. 1807) was the author of Hist. Hampton and his five ancestors in direct line had been town clerks for 100 consecutive years.

Joseph (b. 1807) was the son of Josiah Dow (b. 1764) and Hannah Moulton (she was a widow, so don't know if this was her surname at birth or surname of first husband).

Josiah (b. 1764) was son of Joseph Dow (b. 1729) and Dorothy Blake

Joseph (b. 1729) was son of Samuel Dow (b. 1693) and Mary Page.

Samuel (b. 1693) was son of Samuel (b.1662) and Abigail Hobbs.

Samuel (b. Eng. 1662) was son of Henry Dow (b. ca 1634) and Hannah Page.

Samuel (b. ca. 1634) was the son of Henry Dow - immigrant to Watertown MA 1637.
