Thomas Dow Descendant Web Site
1/28/01
With this update, I've cleaned up some of thedata regarding ancestors of a few of the Dow spouses I had, and I've added part of the BCB lineage (BCBA-BCBD, and part of the BCBE sublineage as noted on the home page).
Although uploaded 12 hours ago, my ISP's search engine hasn't re-indexed the site yet, so I suspect that the search feature won't be working until July 2 at the earliest.Sometimes, it takes a full 24 hours.
The database was reorganized and merged with that of my other parent (then after converted to HTML, each side of the family was split back up). This means two things:Filenames of HTML pages may have changed (so anyone bookmarking a specific page inside the site other than the home page won't be able to find that page via the bookmark). It's also possible that a page link might be there but the page isn't.Please send me e-mail regarding bad links.I might find the page was allocated to my private section instead of the public one and will have to adjust it.
Lastly, since I am limited on space to 10Mb, I noted that about 300 files did not load onto the ISP's server.None of these should be in the Dow descencency but all should be in the ancestry of spouses.Since I have a full copy of the site on my local computer, I can send out anything that didn't make it to the ISP by e-mail upon request.
Also note that since I'm on "genealogy burnout," I'll probably be taking a break for a while before getting back to entering more data.I had wished that I gotten to more of this, but my other parent's family also had a reunion over Memorial Day and I had been getting a lot of missing data there too (that due to the reunion, took priority).
PS:For anyone in the Los Angeles area, I noted that the LDS Temple Family History Library (in Westwood) does have a copy of the Book of Dow in their collection. They also seem to have about 200-500 books in their New England collection.
