Just for clarification, I have no personal knowledge of any error in the material by G. F. Sanborn, Jr. I have corresponded with him off the board and put him in touch with the person who felt he had made errors. In addition, although I quote frequently from material in The Book of Dow, it should be known that this book is not always accurate - and like any published genealogy should be evaluated in light of the reputation of the author. The book definitely should be used only as a research tool, and it is important to get independent verification of the information it contains.
