Acadian Family Douville

I, too, am descended from Francois Douville. His daughter Marie Francoise married Louis Charles Talbot on Isle St. Jean. They were deported, with their family, in January 1759 on the "five ships".At that time Marie Louise Talbot wasthree months old. many children died on the voyage to France.Francoise died a few weeks after debarking at St. Malo.
Marie Louise was left an orphan. At age 16 she was located by one of her uncles (Bonniere widower of Louise Douville)) .He rescued Marie Louise and took her 1773 to Miquelon to reside with her grandmother. Marie Roge Douville. While there she signed as god parent forMarguerite Douville, daughter of her unche Jacques. There was another deportation... we lost track of her.
There is a possibility that she escaped the second deportation by sailing down to Rhode Island to live with her uncle Pierre who had married Cynthia Aborn. Many suspect that she did go to Rhode Island.
My GG grandfather, Louis Andre Talbot was the son of Marie Louise Talbot (she never married).Louis Andre listed his birth place as R.I.... could be Ile Royale in Franceor Rhode Island????.
I find her sailing into Providence RI in December 1798...having booked two passages under her name.
Pierre was cited by Geo. Wahsington for heroic service during the Revolutionary War. After the Rev. War, France and England were engaged in another war.Pierre joined the French Navy.He commanded a ship and died from wounds received in a naval battle off the English coast in June 1794.
I would be most interested in the Rhode Island Douvilles, too.I do know that some of them made it down to Georgia...Charles Douville Coburn...movie actor in the '40's was s direct descendant. But that's about all I know about them.
If you find anything about the livesof Pierre & Cynthia Douville and their offspring, I'd very much interested in hearing about them.
