I UNDERSTAND that there are lots of Elmores and the lineage gets difficult BUT you never stated if you had proof of the MARRIAGE date/place of Blakemore to Edward Douglass.
Do you have a copy of the Elmore to Blakemore marriage? Without the marrige license and the fact that they were married BEFORE 1850...I can't prove which Elmore it is. I will eventually get a copy of the census to try to sort it out but imagine it's hopeless since they married before 1850. For now, I'm stuck with a "limp" computer and time constraints. When I was in TN three weeks ago,....I searched out as MANY of the Douglass's as I could in the time I had and did not run across a Blakemore nor a second Elmore...except for those 2 marriages so far apart in 1818 and 1840 which got me curious as to how many Elmore's there were.
I haven't looked on a MO map yet to find out where Johnson co, MO is but I will be going to Polk Co, Dallas Co and Jasper Co, MO in two weeks. I'll look up where Johnson Co is and try to get more local info if it's anyway on the route to and from KC.
Thanks for sharing. Would love a copy of the Marriage Lic if you have one.
I'm interested in the Douglass line because they CLAIM a relationship to SCURLOCK and I have not yet been able to prove it.
