Thank you for your response to my query. I'm shocked, I wasn't expecting any reply.
The Elmore DOUGLASS who I am speaking of is Elmore DOUGLASS, Jr. who is the son of Elmore and Elizabeth Blakemore DOUGLASS, and therefore, he is the grandson of Edward and Sarah George DOUGLASS.
Elmore & Elender COCKE Douglass were married in Wayne County, Kentucky, and that is where Maranda Jane DOUGLASS was born - but she grew up near Warrensburg in Johnson County, MO.
I think they had 8 children.
I haven't done the research I should on them, because I became "mesmerized" with Elmore's wife, who is either Eleanor or Ellender or Elender COCKE or COX -- apparently the daughter of Jester Gwinn Cocke, Sr. and his first wife, whose identity is unknown.
I've only found two mentions of an Eleanor Cocke, online - whom I believe to be Elender DOUGLASS, wife of Elmore, Jr., and mother of Jane COCKRELL.

One of the problems with the Douglasses of Sumner County TN is that so many of them have the same name and are very close in birth years, too.
However, "my" Elmore is NOT the physician, Dr.Elmore DOUGLASS of Gallatin, his father was NOT named Elmore -- but there are various websites which mistakenly state just that.
