I am curious to learn what became of Elmore James DOUGLASS and his wife Elender/Eleanor Cocke DOUGLASS.
Elmore James DOUGLASS was born on March 4th, in 1798, in Sumner County, Tennessee.
He is Elmore, JUNIOR, son of Elmore and "Betsy" Elizabeth Blakemore DOUGLASS, and the grandson of Edward and Sarah George DOUGLASS.
On July 8th, 1820 Elmore DOUGLASS, Jr. is in Wayne County, Kentucky where he marries Elender COCKE - born on September 16th of 1803 -- who might be the eldest daughter of Jester Gwinn COX // COCKE.
Their first daughter is Maranda Jane DOUGLASS, born in Wayne County, KY. Then they move to Johnson County, Missouri and have 8 more children.
But there is no information online as to where Elmore DOUGLASS or his wife die. I'm unsure how she was known in daily life, whether it be: Eleanor / Ellender / Elender and I don't know if this was actually her given name, I don't know if she has a middle name. Maybe she was called "Nellie," as so many other Eleanors of that day & age were.
Does anybody know anything more about Elmore & Elender DOUGLASS?
