Your theory sounds sound regarding Jesse, father of Syntha, belonging to Jesse and Catherine Simril.Believe that is where the Simeral middle name originated.Mny researchers believe that the majority of the children you named as belonging to Jesse, belonged to Alexander W.I personally have no clue.I do know that several of the children congregated in Boone Co. while the others you named went to St. Louis Co., and this may represent family divisions.I asked if James S. came from Madison Co because I wondered if he was the one who appeared on the 1810 Madison Co. census with a wife and young child. My James went first to St. Louis Co., then Howard and finally Johnson Co. which really does not fit in with the migration paterns of any of the Douglasses who were about the same age and who may have been siblings or cousins.I wish I could help to clear up some of your confusion, but believe I am at least equally confused.
