Triplett Douglas was married to M. Eliza Whaling (abt 1804 - 1853), daughter of Posey and Sarah (Jones) Whaling (pronounced Whalen) [Posey Whaling is named in will of William Jones who d 1812 in Stafford]. As some readers of this post may know, the Whaling family cemetery is off Raven Road in the Brooke area of Stafford county, not far from the post office and the train station. Triplett and Eliza had 7 (or maybe 8) children. Louisa J. (Jane or Jenny) b abt 1824 m Philip Keyton, later to Richmond Sarah Catherine [Caddie] b abt 1829 m Richard J. Payne William Alexander [Bill or Billy] b abt 1832 m Louisa [?] Mary E. [Molly] b abt 1835 m James Austin Pollard Ann V. b abt 1838 m Robert Schooler who died shortly after the wedding, then she m his cousin Robert Allen Lowry Susan Amelia b 1842 was the second wife of Hubbard Winslow Osgood, who worked for the railroad. He was from NH and Susan returned there with him in 1864. Frances E. b abt 1848 died young - this child is not in our family records from my great-grandmother, but Frances died the year my great-grandmother was born so perhaps she did not know her, or know much of her. Frances does appear in the 1860 census living in Stafford with Triplett. Elizabeth F. [Betsy or Bess] b abt 1852 moved to Baltimore after the Civil War and lived with her cousin Eva Rockafellow Crane. As you can see, there are many Stafford county connections but with only one son, William, who lived in various other counties in the area because of his work with the railroad, the Douglass name died out in Stafford County at the time of Triplett's death in 1866-7.
