Dear Ms. Tolbert,

Thank you for responding to my query. I suspect this is the same man. I'm a historian, not a genealogist. My current project involves abstracting the Stafford County militia records (1781-1856) and identifying as many of the men as possible. There were four Douglas men included in the militia records. Their names and the years they were listed:

Archibald 1821
Mourning 1797, 1802
Triplet 1829
William A. 1852

Triplet Douglas (c.1804-1866) died in Stafford in 1866 and his obituary was carried in the Fredericksburg Ledger, July 24, 1866. It gave little information about him other than he was a consistent member of the Baptist Church and had died at his residence on Potomac Run. This waterway runs very nearly the entire width of the county, so this isn't much of a clue as to his place of residence.

I would very much like to have a little information about Mourning, Triplet, and William A. Douglas. Do you know where Mourning Douglas came from? Douglas isn't a common name in Stafford and I suspect they came from someplace else.

Thanks again for writing. I look forward to hearing from you.

Jerrilynn
