I may be related to the Alexander Douglass you refer to. My g-g-grandfather is Alexander B. Douglass, b. 1797 & d. 1876, in Montgomery Co., Georgia. I believe his father was named Frederick. Alexander married Dicey Branch (although in at least one source her last name was listed as Watson)in 1828 and they had either 13 or 18 children (again, depending on the source). Their son Henry (b. 1855) married Eliza (Elizabeth Karen Carter) in 1879. Henry's generation dropped the 2nd "s" in the last name. Henry and Eliza's son Dillard (b. 1886) was my grandfather. He moved to Blountstown, Florida and married Mary Miriam Duncan in 1910. My father - Willard Orvis - the middle child on 5 - was born in 1917, and passed away in 2006. The family settled in Jacksonville, Fl and after Dillard died, sort of lost touch with the Georgia relatives.
