Do you know anything about William DOUGHTY? During the 1760's, he was town clerk in the Nine Partners Patent, Dutchess Co, NY. His will, probated, 15 July 1771, mentions his wife Margaret; sons William, James, Barnerd, Oliver, Samuel; daughters Phoebe, Mary. Executors: Sons William and James This information is from Buck, Clifford and William McDermott, compilers, "Eighteenth Century Documents of the Nine Partners Patent, Dutchess County, New York", William McDermott, Baltimore: Gateway Press, Collections of the Dutchess County Historical Society, Volume X, 1979. I suspect that William's daughter Mary is the Mary Doughty who married Thomas Ketcham, and was one of the original settlers of Sudbury, Vermont. Thank you.
