Any Doughty ancestors in Louisiana?

If you have Doughty ancestors in Louisiana, East Feliciana Parish, Clinton, LA,you may be a descendent of the Mayflower pilgrims.

Levi Doughty moved with his family to East Feliciana Parish a short time after the Louisiana Purchase. He was a descendent of 2 genetic lines from the Mayflower, but had four actual ancestors in the ship. One line was a single man, Edward Doty, and the other line was a family, Edward Fuller, his wife and son, Samuel. The Fuller couple died the first winter but Samuel lived and had descendents.

The Mayflower Society has documented all of this and has books one can purchase which gives proof of lineage. The book which Levi is in brings the lineage down to Levi's children. Mayflower Families Through Five Generations, Volume Eleven, Part II, Edward Doty: His descendants Though sons Thomas and Samuel, and Daughters desire and Elizabeth.

Many people who have this ancestry but who no longer live in the Clinton, LA, area are not aware of the Mayflower connection.

Blessings,
Rev. Nina Russell
