Source: Doty-Doten Family in America, comp. by Ethan Allen Doty, 1897. The book is about the descendants
of Edward Doty, 1620 Immigrant on the Mayflower.
EDWARD DOTEY, of the Mayflower,and FAITH CLARKE, his wife, had issue:
Edward b.ca1637; John b 1639-40; Thomas b prob 1641; Samuel b c1643; Desire b 1645; Elizabeth b c1647;
Isaac b 1648-9; JOSEPH DOTY B. APRIL 30, 1651; and Mary b abt 1653.
Joseph Doty was the eighth and youngest child of Edward DOTY [of the Mayflower] and Faith Clarke. Joseph
Doty was b. at Plymouth, Apr 30, 1651; m. 1st Elizabeth Warren. He m. 2d abt 1680 Deborah Hatch, b. c1662,
at Scituate, Mass, d/o Walter Hatch & Elizabeth Holbrook. She d. Rochester, Mass June 21 1711. He m. 3d
at Rochester, Mar 9 1711/12, Sarah Edwards. He d. at Rochester c 1732-5.
Children by 1st wife: #9387-Theophilas; #9388-Elizabeth;
Children by 2d wife: #9389-Ellis; #9390-JOSEPH DOTY, BORN ROCHESTER, MARCH 30, 1685; plus 5 more children.
#9390-Joseph Doty, s/o Joseph Doty & Deborah Hatch, b Rochester, Mass, Mar 30 1683; m. there Jul 2, 1708,
Hannah Edwards. [Much info included]. Joseph & Deborah had 11 children. #9409-Sarah b 1709; 9410-Isaac,
b. 1711; #9411-ELLIS b. Jan 30 1712/13,&etc...
#9411-Ellis Doty, s/o Joseph & Hannah [Edwards]Doty, was b. Rochester, MASS 30 Jan 1712/13. M. 1st at
Plympton MASS Jul 27 1742, Alice Whiting [Alles Whiten in recs], d/o John Whiting & his wife Bethiah,
Alice was b. 1713 prob Plympton. Ellis m. 2d Rachael Richards, wid of Nathaniel, at Sharon's Ct Oct 27,
1771. He was a boatman. [more info is included].
ISSUE: #9463-John,b Jun 27, 1743; #9464-Thomas, b Jan 20 1746; #9465-JOSEPH, PROB B 1757/60; #9466-Ellis.
#9465 - Joseph Doty, prob s/o Ellis and Mary Whiting Doty, was b. c1757/60. Married Mary Bablock. Sd to
have lived Rhode Island, but removed abt 1790-1800 to Petersburg, Rensselaer Co. NY. ISSUE:
--#9654 - David Doty, born c1787 Rhode Island
--#9655 - Lyman Doty, moved to Ohio early
--#9656 - ZACHEUS DOTY, DIED NEW YORK STATE [no further information offered]
--#9657 - Mary; #9658-Alice Doty m. Walter Pratt; #9659-Sally m. John Parmenter; #9660-Abigail m. []Morgan,
lived Jordans, Miami Co. Ohio.
