Hello Everyone,
I am curious to know if there are any potential living relatives or those with a connection to a certain Daniel Dougherty (born November 20, 1888, New Orleans - died February 15, 1968, New Orleans).
I am going to include his obituary and a few other details here in the hope that someone reading this message may recognize Daniel Joseph Dougherty in their family tree. I believe Daniel may be a distant of mine through his mother Katherine.
Daniel married Mary Lapour on November 22, 1911 in New Orleans.
I believe the 1900 New Orleans Census entry for Daniel lists him and his family living at 435 Adele Street. The following family members are listed:
1. Kate Doherty - born Feb. 1858 - head
2. William P. Doherty - born Feb 1880 - son
3. John Thomas Doherty - born July 1886 - son
4. Daniel Doherty - born Nov. 1888 - son
5. Rosie Doherty - born Dec. 1890 - daughter
6. Katie Doherty - born Feb. 1893 - daughter
7. Kate Fannon - born Feb. 1840 - mother
8. Daniel Fannon - born May 1867 - brother
9. Mary Fannon - born Aug 1856 - sister
NEW ORLEANS TIMES PICAYUNE, February 17, 1968
On Thursday afternoon, February 15, 1968, at 2 o'clock. DANIEL J. DOUGHERTY, beloved husband of the late Mary E. Lapour, son of the late William P. Dougherty and Catherine Ring, brother of Mrs. Katherine Friberg. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. Services from McMahon-Coburn-Briede Funeral Home, 600 Moss St., where Bayou St. John starts, on Saturday morning, February 17, 1968 at 8:30 o'clock. Followed by Requiem Mass at St. Alphonsus Church. Interment St. Louis III Cemetery.
