Albert C. Dougherty, Bay City, MI - 1849

I am looking into a family listed in the 1880 and 1900 census records to see if they are my relation. Both records are from the Bay City in Bay County, MI census. The head of house is Albert C. Dougherty b. June 1849. In 1880, his wife is listed as Catherin Dougherty, 19 yrs old and one daughter of 8 months, Effa (Eva).

By 1900, Albert is a widower. In addition to Effa (Evey) still living at home, there are other children; Catarina B. May 1882, George b. 1883, Nina B. 1888, Elena B. 1892 and Mary b, 1894.

There are two things that I need to know about htis family in order to establish if they are in my ancestry. Was the wife "Catherin" also known as Mary Mills? (I'm thinking that she could have been Mary Catherin Mills). And/or was there another child to this family born in 8 June 1880, not yet born at the 1880 census time and already on his own by the 1900 census?

If you have these names in your family tree, I'd love to swap notes and stories with you.

Teale Dougherty Kocher
