Zachariah SPARKS/Rebecca DAUGHERTY KY>IN>IA
1880 Wapello IN census shows:
100/96 SPARKS Zacariah 60 plasterer KY
Rebecca A. 49 b. KY
Henry 26 b. IN laborer
Mary E. 23 b. IN works in woolen mills
Mattie 21 b. IN
Richard 16 b. IN plasterer
WORTHINGTON Ella 17 works in woolen mills b. IN
Indiana Marriage record has Zachariah SPARKS marrying Rebecca Ann DOUGHERTY on Jan. 11 1843 in Clark County.
Zachariah is given as being in the 1850 Indiana Clark Co. Silver Creek Township census pg. 30.Also on the page are Henry SHELBRIDE, Abram SMITH, Greenbusy (sic) THOMPSON, John WAINMON, Dow WILTON and Zovel ZEIGLER.There is also a "Bery" (probably Benj.) DOUGHERTY on pg. 20.In the 1840 Clark County census there is a Benjamin DAUGHERTY pg. 262 and an Alexander WORTHINGTON on page 240.
Am very interested in learning more about these people.I have a George Washington McKINNEY Jr. (born in Van Buren IA) who married Belle SPARKS, daughter of James E. SPARKS (b. 1832IN) and Carrie BURCH. James E. SPARKS' parents were James SPARKS b. 1803 in KY and Mary Ann ELLIS.I have not yet been able to determine James' parents. But I have a sneaking suspicion that Zachariah SPARKS b. abt. 1810 KY is probably a close relative of James SPARKS b. abt. 1803 KY. James SPARKS appears in the 1850 Martin Co. Perry Township census and in the 1860 Cumberland Co. Springpoint IL Census, then is in Chautauqua Co. KS by 1880.
Curiously, in the Wapello census in which Zachariah SPARKS appears, next page over there is a G. W. MCKINNEY and Mahala from IL.RR laborer. This is not my MCKINNEY (already out of the area), but it is possible he could be a relation of my G. W. MCKINNEY.
Would really appreciate any help on Zachariah SPARKS, the DAUGHERTYs and WORTHINGTONs.
