I AM LOOKING FOR ANY INFORMATION I CAN FIND ON MY UNCLE ROBERT PATRICK TERRANCE DOUGHERTY WHO SERVED IN WWII WITH THE US ARMY CO I, 127TH INFANTRY ON SAIPAN..WOUNDED BY SNIPER AND DIED ON HOSPITAL SHIP ON AUGUST 4, 1944. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE HE IS BURIED AND ANY OTHER RECORDS OF HIS MILITARY SERVICE, AS I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY RECORD OF HIS MILITARY SERVICE OTHER THAN FROM FAMILY MEMORY AND A NEWSPAPER ARTICLE REPORTING HIS DEATH. HE MARRIED IN HAWAII [WHO] AND HAS 1 CHILD; A DTR BORN IN DEC. 1943 WHO ALSO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT HER FATHER AS HER MOTHER WOULD NOT TALK ABOUT HIM AFTER HE DIED. HE WAS MY MOTHERS ONLY BROTHER AND WE TRIED TO FIND INFO ON HIM BEFORE SHE DIED LAST YEAR...SHE WANTED TO MAKE SURE HIS GRAVE HAD A SUITABLE MARKER...PLEASE HELP US MAKE HER LAST WISH COME TRUE! THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP.
