Hello my Fellow Doucette's,
I've been taking a break away from this piticular seach as it's offered my no leads in a very long time.
I am searching for the 1st child born to my grandfather, he was John Patrick Doucette, born 1896 on PEI, his parents were Augusta(Jessie) and Mary Gaudet.
At some point before John Patrick came to New Jersey and married my grandmother, he fathered a daughter born ROBERTA before 1926 in either PEI or Conn, USA. Which I am not sure. I have no surname or married name for her. All I can relay here is the family stories I've been told.
Roberta was last known living in Enfield Conn, working for an Airport and had 2 children, she was in the middle of a divorce or getting remarried... This was in the 1970's.
Upon my grandfathers last visit to PEI, he had a reunion with Roberta in Conn, where he attended her wedding, sometime in the 50's or early 60's. There was a big writeup in the local new paper about him and her being reunited (so I was told)
She was last seen in New Jersey when she came to my grandfathers funeral in 1968. She rode in the first car with my mom and the other sibblings
My grandfather had 5 children with my grandmother and only 1 survives, my Uncle Bill, born 1928. He's asking for her.
I know odds are stacked against me that Roberta is even still alive, but I'm hopeful that someone can contact me with any ANY info on her or her family.
I would like to connect and include her 'branch' in my tree. and Hopefully give my uncle an answer as to where she is and if she is still alive.
