Hi Janet,

Much of the history part is not documented in SW's books, but that doesn't mean it isn't true if someone has found records telling this story.
There is a fantastic new historical book out on Acadians and the expulsion called "A Great and Nobel Scheme" by John Faragher. A very good read.

Anyway, Germain Doucet b. ( date unknown), Couperans en Brie; sieur de La Verdure; capitaine d'armes.

Please note he is not Germain Doucet dit La Verdure and is not referred to as such in the dictionary though other people in the dictionary that have dit names are listed as such. This is not the case with our Germain.

It would be interesting to send you write-up to SW in Moncton to see if he can verify your notes.
