My ancestor, Anna Doty, was born Dec 1765 at Basking Ridge, Middlesex Co., NJ, daughter of Samuel Doty and Keturah ______. Anna's parents removed to Warren Co., OH, where Samuel died in 1817. Anna married James Parker, a Revolutionary War soldier in a Virginia regiment, perhaps at Elizabethtown, KY, circa 1780. By 1784 Anna & James were living near Boston, KY, in what is now Nelson Co., KY, where they raised their family of at least five children. Then, around 1803-6, because of Indian problems in KY, they went back to OH, living in Butler Co., OH, near Anna's relatives. These pioneers were restless, so, in 1818, they went west to Crawford Co., IL. Finally they moved on to Coles Co., IL, where Anna died 12 Oct 1830, and James died in 1835. Does anyone know the paths Anna and James traveled before they met and married in Kentucky? Where was James Parker born -- who were his parents? These are missing pieces in the picture puzzle of their lives. Any information will be appreciated. R. Gene Clack
