Hello,
I am a descendant of Leander Reed. I grew up on his farm in Indiana. According to our family history written by my ancestors, Serring Doty did have a daughter, Prudence who married William Reed. This is what one of my great aunts wrote about Serring and Jane Doty.
Children:
Prudence Doty, Born Nov 9, 1808 Died January 31, 1883 Age 75 years, 20 months, 22 days. Was a member of the United Brethren Curch for many yars.
Elizabeth Doty Stackhouse Born Sept 1, 1810
Jesse Doty Born Sept 16, 1812 (father of John Doty)
John Doty Born Sept 7, 1816 Died 1838
Willis Doty Born Dec. 8, 1818 Died 1849
Mary Doty Born July 26, 1822
Prudence married William Reed Dec 26, 1825 in Hamilton, Ohio (Butler Co.) They moved to Lafayette, IN.
