US SPECIAL CENSUS ON DEAF FAMILY MARRIAGES AND HEARING RELATIVES, 1888-1895, new transcription on Ancestry.com. Lists Pluma Jane Doty b. 14 Jan 1846 (earlier censuses reflect abt 1842) m. Lyman Thorpe b. 6 Jan 1827, son of Ebenezer Thorp and Lucinda Gray, on 15 Apr 1865 in Adrian, Lenawee, Michigan. Lists Pluma's family as: father, Farrie (Ferris) Doty; mother, Celinda; sister, Huldah Gilmore; sister, Hester Whitehead; sister, Maila Boland; brothers, Henry, Harvey, William, Richard.

Does anyone know the parentage of this Ferris Doty, b. 1800-1810, New York? 1830 US census, in Wilson, Niagara, NY. Later of Franklin, Lenawee County, Michigan 1840 US census (Ferriss); presumably died before 1850 US census.

Does anyone know the maiden name and parentage of Celinda, b. abt 1807, Vermont or New York? Lived in Franklin (1850 US census) and Clinton (1860 US census), Lenawee County Michigan. Later lived with daughter, Hester Whitehead in Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana (1870 US census) and died there on 11 Sep 1876 (Indiana Deaths, 1882-1920).

Any help would be appreciated. See my earlier posting #2493 for more info on Pluma Jane Doty and Lyman Thorp(e).
