I am looking for information on my ggggrandfather's family that lived in Ashtabula County Ohio. My grandfather was John H. Doty born Oct 16 1816 in Worchester County, Somerset, NY. He was married to Mary Ann Piper. They were married May 16 1840 in NY. John and Mary had 8 children. In 1857 he came to Kansas and homesteaded with his 2 brothers, Allen and Frederick. Allen and Frederick did not stay in Kansas, they left and returned to Ashtabula County. I know there is another brother , Lewis married to Jane Lillie. Would like to make contact with any of the descendants of these families. I think their father was Elisha Doty born abt. 1788 in Half Moon Saratoga NY. Elisha was married to Elizabeth Betsey VanVorsa. If I can verify that he is the father to these men, then there is a possible connection to Edward Doty of the Mayflower.
There was a posting to the Lewis Doty family back in 2001 on genforum, but the e-mail address is invalid. Would like to make contact with that person. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.
