Looking for father of Charles S Doty in Ohio prior to 1860

I am looking for the father of Charles S Doty. He was born somewhere in Ohio about 1829-1831. Charles,his wife Catharine and children moved to Franklin County Indiana sometime between 1855-1860. My Great Great Grandfather is his son, George Frank Doty who was born somewhere in Ohio in 1855. I have found a James Doty in Belmont County,Ohio who has a son named Charles listed on the 1850 Census. I am not certain if this is his father. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
