I'm looking for info on Nehemiah Veal who appears on the 1790 census for Dutchess Co. and not thereafter. His daughter Freelove and her siblings Daniel, John, and Abigail remained in NY. Freelove married Elias Doty and had three daughters Mary, Phebe, and Sarah. Mary married a Powell, Phebe a Weeks, and Sarah a Merritt. Mary corresponded with Alfred Vail who planned to write a family history but died before completing it. I'm hoping a Doty descendent might have info for me about what happened to Nehemiah and his second wife Unknown Dean, particularly any children they might have had. Was there a family Bible, and if so who ended up with it? I really need to find Nehemiah's parents and/or his siblings. I'm very close to finishing our branches of Vail tree, but not there yet. Nehemiah was said to have moved to Canada after a quarrel with Daniel. I believe Nehemiah was a Loyalist.
