I am trying to find info on my 3rd Great Grandparents. Elijah Doty married Prudence Doty 23 Jan. 1842 in Warren County Indiana, my line is through their daughter Mary Ellen. I've found that Elijah was the son of Jacob Doty and Margaret Garrius. What I can't find is who was Prudence. Per the 1850 Warren Township, Warren Co., Indiana my Prudence was 27 years old. From the census records I find that she was not living with Elijah in 1860, the children were so I've assumed Prudence died. The Warren Co. Court Records show Elijah Doty married Prudence Doty. Since this is Court Records was Doty her maiden name?
I've found the Prudence Doty that married John Moore, she is shown with her family in Independence, Warren Co., Indiana in the 1850 census as 51 years old.
