Hello Mary,
Thank you so much for answering my post and for all the info
on Frazy and Martha (Mills) Doty and family. I did have some of this info but not all of it.
The reason I am looking for an "official" death record for Martha (Mills) Doty is because I was hoping to learn for sure,if her parents really were Joseph Mills and Jane Stoten, as claimed.
I have Martha (Mills) Doty's Obituary from the July 1892 Galt, Grundy Co., Missouri newspaper, but it does not name her parents in this obit.It does say that Martha Mills was born near "Brown's Run" in Montgomery Co., Ohio. Brown's Run is a small river that starts in Montgomery Co., OH and runs down through Madison Twp. in Butler Co., OH - where it empties into the Miami River.
I also have a 1890 Galt Tribune newspaper article of an interview done with Martha Doty, in which Martha mentions that she was born on Browns Run area of then Warren County, OH. This same article also mentions that Martha, at age 90 y/o, was going to be taking a train trip with her daughter and son in law, back to her old home town of Ithica
in Darke Co., OH to see family still living there. Then, the article went on to say, that they were going to go on to Farmland, Randolph Co., Indiana - to see Martha's brother, Elisha Mills.
I have been researching this "MILLS" family for quite some time, so I also have a newspaper Obituary for the Elisha Mills of Farmland, Randolph Co., IN. It mentions that this Elisha Mills was born Oct. 3, 1804 on Brown's Run, Madison Twp, Butler Co., OH and he died in Farmland, Indiana in 1895.
I have said all the above to say this. My gr gr gr grandmother was ABIGAIL MILLS born ca 1801 in the Brown's Run area of either Montgomery Co. or Butler Co., OH. Abigail Mills married on Sept 1, 1825 in Montgomery Co., OH, to a John Driver who was from the Brown's Run area of Butler Co., OH.
From Ohio, my John and Abigail (Mills) Driver - moved to the Knightstown area, Wayne Twp, Henry Co., Indiana in 1826. My research has shown that the Elisha Mills above, a Jacob Mills and a James and Jane (Mills) Johnson all went to Henry Co., IN also, and all lived in the same area known as the Heaton Neighborhood in 1830. In 1835 - my John and Abigail Driver both died of Cholera, leaving behind four orphan children - Levi, John, Elisha and my gr gr grandmother, Martha Jane Driver. These orphaned children were taken to Farmland area of Randolph Co., Indiana to be raised by two of their father John's brothers, a James and a Jacob Driver, who had moved from Butler Co., OH to Randolph Co., IN in 1823. There was also a Morgan and Rebecca (Driver) Mills who had moved from the Brown's Run area of Butler Co., OH, in 1823, to Farmland area of Randolph Co., IN. Rebecca Driver was a sister to the John, James and Jacob Driver mentioned above.

By 1838 or so - James and Jane (Mills) Johnson had moved from Henry Co., IN to Saline Co., MO and settled there. Elisha Mills and Jacob Mills also left Henry Co., IN and by 1850 they were both found living next door to each other in the Farmland area of Randloph Co., IN. During this same time period, Frazy and Martha (Mills) Doty's oldest son, William and his family, are also living in Farmland, Randolph Co., Indiana.
I just can't believe that all these happenings are strictly
coinsidential. I truly believe all these Mills people are
related to Martha (Mills) Doty - hopefully they are all siblings. Look at the names of my Abigail's children - all named the same as four of Frazy and Martha's children.

Well, I sure didn't mean to bombard you with all this info -but if you or anyone else reading this, knows more on Martha (Mills) Doty's parents and family, I would love to hear it. Especially, if anyone knows anything about Frazy and Martha's oldest son William and his family, I am interested.

Thank you again, Mary. I appreciate hearing from you.
Judy Mills Boie - Minnesota
