No, I had not heard from anyone before you.I'm so happy that you saw my post and took the time to respond.I was really floundering around because I had no clues - and no access to the Doty-Doten book.Apparently both William T. Thorn died before 1860; Eliza may have died or possibly married again (I can't find my George T.)
No question but that this is the right Eliza, even though there are a few discrepancies.
1. She shaved a couple of years off her age on the census.Perhaps she had done so when she married George, who was 7 years her junior on the census, but apparently actually 9 years per her birthdate.
2. When her son George Townsend Thorn died, her name was given as Anne E.Anne E. is also given on RootsWeb as the mother of Isaac H. Delamater (this also says that IHD's father was John Sedgwick. which is obviously in error.)
However-
1. Her mother Elizabeth was living with them, which fits.
3. Her baby brother was named Townsend, which may be where her son, George Townsend Thorn, got his middle name.
Again, thank you so much.
