Hi Cathy,
I'm also an Anna Doaty descendant through my grgrgrandfather, Rev. John Doty Addington, son of William, son of Charles, son of William.Like many Addington researchers before me, I'm on a quest to attempt to discover the ancestry of Anna.I've never seen the "Dota" name before and wonder if you found it anywhere besides this book.I did find reference to Dota as a name of immigrants to PA and some of them did migrate to the Yadkin.I've poured through eary court records but could not find her family. The closest I have found is a Dutton who might be one of the Doty/Duttons and living on Copper Creek and in the same church as she was, that is, the Copper Creek Primitive Baptist Church. There are also, of course, Daniel Manning Doty and Jeremiah Dutton/Doughty/Douten etc. in the area since the 1770s, which is too early. They were loyalists and some of their descendants may have returned to the area like other families associated with them.I have ordered the minutes of the church to see if I might gain further insight. How did your research trip go?Always nice to meet a cousin :).
Donalyn
